Nimbochromis fuscotaeniatus also known as the Fusco Cichlid is a large predatory Cichlid endemic to Lake Malawi found predominantly around the southern regions of the lake this ambush predator is fierce looking males turn am electric shade of blue with camouflage pattern females remain a brown colour with similar pattern.
Aquarium behavior: The aquarium should have a large open swimming area a tank should be at least 6ft in length as a minimum but the bigger the better small amounts of rock work should be provided and a sandy substrate. These fish grow large and subsequently do require a large area to swim.
Temperament: These fish can be very aggressive towards other tank mates so it’s advised they be housed with fish of a similar size and aggression level best kept with other predatory Haps.
